International business giants support JASU business incubator residents

Eleven startups from pupils and students, members of JASU business incubator Ukrainian Future Incubator, were highly rated by specialists from the USA, Poland and Ukraine. The project pitch was held online on August 28.

The prize fund of the pitch consisted of four items, such as credits at Amazon Web Services, support in the project promotion from Rhonda Schrader, a jury member and executive director of Berkeley-Haas Entrepreneurship Program at the University of California, Berkeley, and a grant to complete the startup from the U.S.-Ukraine Foundation Biotech Initiative, as well as a prize from the Advisory Board and Ukrainian Future Incubator team.

The startup Harmix received the main award from Amazon Web Services (smart service for selecting music in videos). The team will be able to finish their project by consulting with specialists and AWS recourses in IT-sphere. Moreover, all teams with IT-projects that took part at the pitch will have some credits for the company’s services.

Rhonda Schrader noted two startup teams as being the best. It was an already mentioned Harmix and Engenius (a predictive maintenance system that collects engine performance data and predicts the time when the device may fail). Both startup teams will meet with investors and experts from Silicon Valley.

The startup Agrodynamix (an organic fertilizer RADOROD that increases yielding and helps soil regeneration) received financial help from the U.S.-Ukraine Foundation Biotech Initiative to finish its product.

Seven startup teams received prizes from the pitch organizers (Advisory Board andUkrainian Future Incubator team) – three-month certificates of free access to co-working space at Ukrainian Future Incubator in Kyiv in 2021 and mentorship from UF Incubator experts. Among them, there are Harmix and Agrodynamix mentioned earlier, as well as Visible Space (a 3D puzzle that helps visually impaired children and adultsto learn astronomy and biology); Nutis (controlling nutrition with smart devices); Leon (a smart ultraviolet lamp for light cleaning); MilPriMaker (a multifunctional machine for processing soft materials with an ability to 3D-print plastic parts); and Chillinger (a portable mug that cools or heats beverages and has the function of controlling how much fluids you consume).

All eleven pitch participants will have an access to JASU business incubator Fab lab, the laboratory for prototyping.
