The final online pitch of the UF Startup School Beginner took place on February 2. It was preceded by three weeks of training, during which the teams worked on the generation and financial substantiation of ideas, development of business models, clarified legal issues of starting a business and studied the peculiarities of the development of a startup brand and the presentation of their ideas.
In total, 18 out of 44 enrolled participants could complete the full course of the pre-incubation program. 15 projects participated in the final online pitching - Crash Test. It:
• EKZO – a frame exoskeleton of an active type with a lifting weight of up to 660 kg, which helps to dismantle blockages.
• GreenGuard – an innovative system for recognizing diseased plants and effectively caring for them in greenhouses
• ChessLibro is a platform for easy learning of debuts in chess.
• Fluxify is a mobile application for time travel, and learning about history and architecture.
• Eco-Charge – an innovative power bank that works on aluminum-air batteries.
• Drone protection system in the event of an emergency fall.
• Creative zone "Energy of Youth".
• Online community and marketplace for Ukrainian artists.
• RScreen – technology that turns any flat surface into an interactive whiteboard.
• SUP Hand – an adaptive prosthesis, the newest technology, with the help of which the prosthesis adapts to the user automatically.
• The technology of manufacturing cardboard lids is not inferior in strength and tightness to plastic ones.
• Innovative biomimetic design of containers and packaging with secondary use as a finished product.
• Development of a method of controlling robotic prostheses.
• Mobile assistant "Perfect and safe walk".
• MedWarden – an interactive medical system to support the health of patients.
During the online pitch, each of its participants had 3.5 minutes for a presentation, plus the same amount of time for a question and answer session from the jury. It included:
Vitaliy Lisovy, CEO of Ukrainian Future, a business incubator of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, business mentor of startup projects, an expert in project management, and business development;
Iryna Bystrova, Ph.D., program manager, trainer-consultant of the Ukrainian Future business incubator, expert in startup management, business planning, and financial justification of projects, business mentor of startup projects;
Yuriy Baranovskyi, an expert in programming and AI, engineer of the UF Fablab laboratory
All 15 presentations received favorable feedback from the jury. According to the results of the pitch, the authors of 5 projects received an invitation to join the community of residents of the business incubator and continue working on their inventions as participants in the Business Incubation Program — an annual program of personalized comprehensive support for startups, which is supported by GIST (a global innovation project of scientific and technical initiatives of the State Department USA) and combines a training program, individual consulting, business coaching, fundraising assistance and professional networking with the possibility of using the material infrastructure of the business incubator on preferential terms (co-working space, prototyping laboratory and material library).
All 18 participants of the UF Startup School Beginner, who completed the full course of the pre-incubation program, will receive Certificates of completion of the course, the opportunity to join the next educational programs of the business incubator on a non-competitive basis and participate in Ukrainian Future open events.
