- stage I — district (in districts, territorial communities, cities);
- stage II — regional (republican — in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, city — in the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol);
- and stage III — All-Ukrainian (final) — in Kyiv.
- Stage I of the competition
In institutions of general secondary, out-of-school, professional (vocational-technical), and professional higher education, selection for the stage I of the competition may be held in the form of conferences of student scientific societies, if such societies exist in these institutions.
The procedure for organizing and holding a conference of the student scientific society is determined by the order of the head of the educational institution or the governing body of the scientific society.
The results of the conference are approved by the order of the head of the educational institution. Based on this order, a list of students who will participate in the stage I of the competition is determined.
To participate in the stage I of the competition, the heads of educational institutions where the future participants study shall submit the following documents for each participant to the organizing committees of the stage I according to the terms determined by the relevant orders:
- application for participation in the stage I of the All-Ukrainian contest-presentation of scientific research projects among JAS students (application template is in annex № 1);
- research work on paper and digital media;
- review of the supervisor and review by a specialist in the relevant field;
- motivation letter (requirements for registration are given in the section "Requirements for motivation letter");
- declaration of academic honesty of the participant of the All-Ukrainian contest-presentation of scientific research projects among JAS students (the declaration template is in annex № 2); and
- certificate of the exhibit (development) if available (certificate template is in the annex № 3).
- Stage II of the competition
To participate in the stage II of the competition, the organizers of the stage I shall submit the following documents to the organizing committee of the stage II according to the terms specified by the relevant orders:
- order on the results of the stage I of the competition;
- application for participation in the stage II of the All-Ukrainian contest-presentation of scientific research projects among JAS students;
- research works of participants on paper and digital media;
- reviews of supervisors and experts in the field;
- motivation letters;
- declarations of academic honesty of participants of the All-Ukrainian contest-presentation of scientific research projects among JAS students;
- certificates of exhibits (developments) if available; and
- information on the effectiveness of the participation of students of the territorial branch of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the stage I of the All-Ukrainian contest-presentation of scientific research projects among JAS students (template is in annex 4).
- Stage III of the competition
Based on the results of the stage II of the competition, teams are formed to participate in the stage III.
- Participants arrive at the venue of the stage III of the competition in an organized manner accompanied by the team leader(s) — a teacher (teachers), who is appointed by order of the relevant governing body in the field of education.
- Team leaders take care of timely and high-quality preparation of documents for participation in the stage III of the competition and take responsibility for the lives and health of participants, their arrival at the venue of the stage III of the competition, and return to educational institutions.
- A team of more than 5 people is accompanied by two team leaders.
- Research papers must be formatted in accordance with the "Requirements for research papers."
- The participant has the right to submit to the competition a research work presented in previous years, provided that such work is significantly improved and fundamentally new results are obtained.
- Interference of third parties (parents, other legal representatives, or pedagogical and scientific supervisors) in the competition procedure and in the work of the organizing committee or the jury is prohibited. During the work of the jury, only participants in the relevant scientific section, the secretary of the scientific section, and members of the organizing committee of the relevant stage of the competition are allowed.
- Photo, film, and TV shootings are carried out in compliance with the requirements of the legislation during the competition.
- Documents for participation
Rules establish the list of documents for participation in each stage of the competition. The Ministry of Education and Science (stage III) or relevant departments of education (stages I and II) determine the deadline for submitting documents each year. To participate in the stage III of the competition, one must prepare the following documents:
- a copy of the final order of executive body of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea in education, the regional department of education, the cities of Kyiv or Sevastopol on the results of the stage II of the competition;
- application for participation in the stage III of the competition;
- research papers on paper and digital media;
- reviews of scientific supervisors and specialists in the relevant field;
- annotations of research papers of all participants of the stage III from the regional department of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine on a single digital medium;
- motivation letters;
- declarations of academic honesty;
- certificates of exhibits (developments) if any;
- information on the effective participation of students of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine regional department in the stage II of the competition;
- questionnaires of participants of the stage III of the competition; and
- 2 photos (3.5 × 4.5 cm) of each participant.
